At a young age, I grew fascinated with Japanese culture.
Well, at that point of time, the Japanese culture was the fad, just like the current Korean culture fad.
But even when it died down, my passion never did. (winkwink~ didn't that sentence flow well?)
I remember the first ever anime I had watched was Naruto, and Naruto Shippudden wasn't even out at the time. My brother introduced it to me someway or another and I just got hooked.
Being the curious little one I was, I began to search for more interesting animes. Back then, little boys and dagger throwing fancy skills weren't my thing. (But I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy Naruto now.)
That was when I started watching Shoujo (female-targeted: girly cliques and handsome guys hahaha) animes like Ouran High School Club.. and even a little more of the Shounen (male-targeted: more of battle scenes and gross action) genre like Code Geass.
Animes are a fantasy, really.
How does one girl actually end up in a boys' school and is surrounded by six, seven handsome guys which all coincidentally falls in love with her?!
That's like every girls' dream isn't it... Hahaha.
When do so many guys shower you with all the attention that you could possibly ever want?
Recently I'm more into shounen animes, so this list might have lesser shoujo ones. But if you like action-packed scenes and some gore and blood, why not! Of course I'll include the shoujo ones that I like alot. This list is mostly made up of the animes that I'm really into right now and is not in order of ranking.

Are you thinking: Is this actually a game?
Well, it's an anime featuring a virtual game. The catch is, that you control a "physical body" with your mind. That means you have to move this physical body to kill monsters and move about.
Of course, the physical body is only a virtually made one. Once you're done, you sign out of the game world and return back to the real life.
Genius, isn't it?! It's such a freakin' fresh concept that I fell in love with it after the first episode. Go watch it... because something unexpected occurs right at the start.
&if you like romance and action packed into one, this anime has a pretty sweet one.

The characters that we first meet are Aladdin and Alibaba. Wait a minute...
Doesn't the name ring a bell? Something like 'Genie in the Lamp'?
When there is a magic carpet, we think of Aladdin. And when we think of Aladdin, we think of genies don't we? Except that it's called a Djinn in the show, and they're somewhat like genies. No wishes but hell loads of magic power and strength.
There are erected buildings called 'Dungeons' that are extremely dangerous but upon clearing it, you are rewarded handsomely. With a djinn and heaps load of gold!
Despite the fighting scenes, it's also has several comedic elements. I laughed my ass off in the scenes where Alibaba meets the "most popular hostess" in a bar. Every bar.

Ah~ This is also another very popular anime that many cosplayers love to dress up as.
If you're really into handsome, singing idols, this might be the choice for you. The setting of the anime is at a highly renowned music school that a previous singing sensation (which I might mention, is a little crazy) established to nurture budding idols and songwriters.
And... it's a shoujo anime. The kind with one girl and loads of hot guys. I like that every individual guy gets to sing a song of their own, and these songs are sung by the voice actors themselves.
Do take note that the anime can get pretty corny. The opening scared me the first time I saw it, but there is one particular guy that will make the goosebumps erupt all over your body...

Also called Attacks on Titans, it's one of the best shounen animes I've ever watched, period. Mankind has been at risk for the past centuries ever since these humongous beings called Titans showed up.
Apparently, these Titans have no sexual nor digestive organs and do not have to eat. However for some unknown reasons, they have come to consume humans... And after digesting the flesh they vomit out the remaining bones. Crazy.
As such, mankind has built three walls to stop the invasion of the Titans. It had worked well for a hundred years, but the worse had yet to come.
Alot of gore and disgusting looking creatures-Titans in this show. It's like a zombie apocalypse, but maybe worse.. Since these beings can grow up to over ten metres and gobble you whole x_x.

There's two different worlds and a Demon king and a Hero. The Hero's duty is to kill this Demon King and prevent chaos from ensuing and enslaving the rest of the world.
But it's actually hilarious. I mean, the title tells it all right? A Demon King that does part-time work is seriously not cool. Both the Demon King and the Hero ends up on Earth, with no funds whatsoever to support themselves so they have to do what we normal citizens do - Work!
And so, the Demon King ends up working at McRonalds (McDonalds?).
What the heck.
If you like animes with lots of fighting scenes and yet still want to get a good laugh out of it sometimes, this might be it!
Since many people have asked me about the kind of anime that I liked and would recommend, I thought that I should do a thorough post on it instead.
It's a little different from what I do, but Japanese culture IS one of my favourite stuff.
Apart from makeup, I'll be doing miscellaneous posts about Japan too!
Try watching some of the shows? It might serve as an eye-opener to how precious life is to us (like Shingeki no Kyojin o_o).
Hope you liked my selection!
Thanks for reading peeps``
Do let me know if you enjoyed any of the above!
