How was your Halloween weekend? This post came a little late, but better late than never!
This year I finally got the chance to celebrate the event for the first time. First up is a school event, from the Flim and Media Studies School which organised Scarefest 2013 and I headed over with my new semester classmates, Fel and Elaine.
The queue was soooo long I think we waited more than an hour just to get in....
for a 10 minute walk.
The best thing was that I didn't scream at all. Ha. Ha. I guess it would be a little scary to some, but most of time I was going "Guys, be careful of your step..." and navigating my way through the scare actors 'cos I really didn't want to step on them. Ouch.
No pictures of the inside unfortunately.
One room had a crazy scientist/doctor that had a crazed look with a "pregnant" woman laying on a hospital bed. I only remember the scientist/doctor muttering stuff and being crazy delusional and the lady proceeding to stab herself in the stomach.
The most memorable room was the one inside the girl's toilet. Inside were a group of scantily-clad girls (who were later named mermaids by the staff) and some were sitting on the floor with their long hair hanging loose infront of their faces. We had to collect a necklace from the last cubicle. Some of the doors were locked but they were banging on it from the inside whereas others had a girl staring. Once we collected the necklace the girls went rampant and started to claw at our legs. I had 3 gashes on my legs T-T.
Usually when we finished each trail the scare actors will scream at us to GET OUT. That part was pretty ugh for me.Although it wasn't that scary for me, I still had lotsa fun mostly during the waiting time 'cos we got to enter with people who actually cosplayed for Halloween... and they probably did most of the scaring anyway.
On the last day of Sentosa Spooktacular, I headed over with le Bestie, Livia and Dan to meet up with the Livia's friends. We managed to get early bird passes and topped up for an Express Pass. It turned out to be the best decision of the night 'cos the queue rides went up to 99 minutes of waiting, whereas we got in within 15 minutes for most rides. And yes, I managed to get on everything!
On an overall, the trails were quite a letdown. I actually expected more since it was supposed to be inspired by Thai movies (and you know they are shit-inducing scary). Rides like Pee Mak took only about 5 minutes and wasn't scary in the least. We learned the dance that the actors had to do in the movie and then the female ghost popped out from behind the dance teachers. Funny thing was, the guy got scared himself! Most of us didn't even notice the ghost appearing from behind.
With the whole group that night!
Although I didn't know the others that well, it was still a fun night because they were such a funny bunch.
There ends my first ever Halloween and of course, I look forward to scaring myself many more.
